The apprentice maintains appropriate relationships with student(s).

 

a)      Communicates effectively with student or student’s family.

b)      Demonstrates understanding of student differences/needs/and or cultural values.

c)      Establishes rapport with students and family.

d)      Demonstrates understanding of student attitudes and behaviors.

e)      Uses language appropriate for student’s age and education level.

f)       Is courteous and respectful.

g)      Maintains appropriate social skills.

 

The apprentice responds positively to supervision.

 

a)      Is receptive to constructive criticism from supervisor.

b)      Requests assistance from supervisor when needed.

c)      Interactively participates with supervisor.

d)      Assists speech-language pathologist in assessing student.

e)      Initiates and follows supervisory guidance.

 

The apprentice demonstrates appropriate conduct.

 

a)      Is able to evaluate own performance.

b)      Follows the role of an apprentice as outlined by this district.

c)      Works ethically and professionally with students, staff, and family, and/or community.

d)      Participates in in-service training.

e)      Participates in community relations programs.

 

The apprentice uses skills necessary for task completion.

 

a)      Is on time and prepared for students.

b)      Submits documentation on time.

c)      Performs assigned tasks efficiently with no unnecessary distractions.

d)      Completes assigned tasks within allotted time.

e)      Prepares and selects appropriate treatment materials ahead of time.

f)       Chooses appropriate materials based upon treatment plans.

g)      Selects materials that are age appropriate and culturally appropriate.

h)      Documents treatment plans and protocols accurately and concisely.

i)        Documents and reports student’s performance.

j)        Signs documents, which are reviewed and co-signed by supervisor.

k)      Prepares and maintains students charts, records, or graphs for data.

l)        Schedules activities as necessary for student speech or language services.

 

The apprentice demonstrates knowledge and use of screening instruments.

 

a)      Understands the use of screening tests.

b)      Schedules screenings.

c)      Uses screening tests reliably.

d)      Scores screening tests accurately.

e)      Shares screening results and any other pertinent information with supervisor.

 

The apprentice performs tasks as outlined and instructed by the supervisor.

 

a)        Implement treatment plans accurately and efficiently.

b)        Implements feedback from supervisor for modifying treatment plans.

c)        Provides student wit accurate feedback on his/her response.

d)        Uses consistent feedback and reinforcement procedures.

e)        Distinguishes correct versus incorrect responses.

f)         Verbally interacts with student appropriate to the student’s age and level of understanding.

 

Work Hours:

Work hours are established in employment contract.  Additional work hours may be

required as scheduled by School Principal.
