Job Title: GE Teacher (SEL and Behavior Support) 

 

This posting is for a GE Teacher in the Elementary Student Support (ESS) Classroom. The ESS Program is a proactive approach to addressing social and emotional learning and behavioral challenges within general education elementary classrooms through the MLSS. By providing targeted support, explicit teaching, and consistent interventions, we aim to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive. Effective collaboration, communication, and data-driven decision-making are key to the success of this initiative.

 

Preferred Experience, Training, Skills: 

  • Expertise and experience in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) tools, instruction, and intervention strategies; 
  • Expertise and experience in utilizing CASEL’s (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) Core Competencies to support students’ development of self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness; and  
  • Experience related to planning and providing professional development to colleagues.

Work Hours:

Work hours are established in employment contract. Additional work hours may be assigned by the School Principal within the parameters of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
