Job Title: Near Peer Tutor - After School
Job Summary: Near Peer Tutors are current RRPS high school students willing to tutor elementary school (K-5) students after school in any subject area. RRPS is looking for responsible, dependable, and professional high school students with a strong interest in pursuing a rewarding career in education.
Pay Grade: Hourly
Minimum Qualifications
- Have a strong interest in pursuing a career in education;
- Be a current Rio Rancho Public Schools High School student;
- Have the ability to provide your own transportation to an RRPS elementary school;
- Abide by RRPS student dress code and wear a designated tutoring shirt while tutoring;
- Have a strong academic record;
- Exhibit outstanding citizenship and professionalism; and
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Essential Job Responsibilities
The Tutor shall:
- Tutor elementary level (K-5) students at their assigned school site;
- Assist elementary students in any core subjects as needed;
- Tutor assigned elementary students after school during the 4-6pm time frame for up to 3 days per week in the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 Semester;
- Follow all direction of supervising teachers;
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as school board RRPS policies and procedures;
- Complies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations; and
- Employee may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the district during the term of employment.

Evaluated by: Educators Rising Teacher/Coordinator at RRHS/CHS and Director of CTE
