Job Title: Custodial Manager
Assignment: Facilities Department, Custodial Services Team
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years as Head, Lead or Custodian Foreman
- Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, equipment used in custodial services, modern cleaning methods, OSHA, multi-step in written and oral communication.
- Demonstrates ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups, problem solve to analyze issues and create action plans, assign and review the work of others; supervise and evaluate personnel; observe and assure compliance with health and safety practices and procedures; plan and organize work; communicate effectively both orally and in writing, accomplish the major duties and responsibilities listed below
- Current New Mexico Drivers License with insurable driving record.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Assists in planning and scheduling the work of custodians and evaluating them in collaboration with the Custodian Foreman and Custodial Director.
- Directs custodians and participates in the cleaning of building.
- Makes routine inspections to review work in progress and upon completion.
- Oversees and personally inspects sites before and after cleaning for safety and sanitation considerations. Documents inspections and communicates expectations.
- Reports the need for equipment according to district procedures.
- Reports the need for building repair through the work order system.
- Operates and cares for a variety of equipment (vacuum cleaners, buffers, floor scrubbers, etc.)
- Maintains an inventory of equipment in the buildings.
- Schedules and supervises projects such as, but not limited to floor, heavy cleaning duties and summer cleaning.
- Reviews and interviews prospective custodial candidates for the purpose of making recommendations for hiring to Human Resources.
- Deals with students, parents, staff, and others in a positive manner.
- Knows and follows district policy.
- Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the Director of Custodial.
- Complies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations;
- Employee may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the district during the term of employment.
Work Hours: Eight
(8) Hours Per day / 250 day contract.
Supervisor may assign additional work hours.
Employee is required to perform On-Call duties.
Employee is required to perform Emergency Call-Back.
